About Young Lambeth Cooperative
The Young Lambeth Cooperative (YLC) is a membership organisation set up as a partnership by young people, community members and Lambeth Council to revolutionise the way services for young people are chosen and run.
What they needed:
As a newly launched youth support organisation in the Lambeth area, the YLC needed to engage local young people and community stakeholders in the design and delivery of its services. We've supported the YLC with youth consultations and organisational strategy development.
Engaged our own local networks to raise awareness of the organisation through liaison with local schools and community organisations.
Designed and delivered a range of participation workshops to provide service users a platform to shape the YLC commissioning process of youth services in the borough.
Led strategy development away-day and produced a number of recommendations for the YLC to increase reach and improve effectiveness of programme delivery.
What they said:
“It is with pleasure that I am able to recommend the services of Beyond the Classroom. The team were able to respond swiftly and creatively to the very short timescales we imposed in order to design, market and co-deliver a range of activities. They did this in such a way that we were not only able to meet all of the outcomes required, but I was also able to use the example of how the BTC team approached planning, delivery and engagement with young people as a training opportunity for my own members of staff.
BTC demonstrated high levels of professionalism and worked hard, with honesty and integrity throughout our joint project. Showing their ability to respond quickly to evolving situations as well as critically reflect on the processes being used. BTC were also able to engage a group of young women they had previously worked with in our project – the confidence, enthusiasm and involvement of these young women was testament to the work BTC had previously undertaken.”
